Rubber-steel gaskets are used wherever effective sealing of comparatively cool substances is combined with low leakage rates and low bolt forces. Rubber-steel gaskets are mainly used to seal gas, water, air, acids, alkalis and hydrocarbons in combination with low pressures and temperatures. The inner steel ring prevents the seal from being pressed out at prevailing pressures and thus increases the stability of the seal even during the most difficult assembly tasks.
